A Singapore national, Wenhai Guan, was subjected to 6 (six) months of imprisonment through South Jakarta’s Court Ruling dated March 2nd, 2021 for assault. Interpol, with the request of Legal and Foreign Relations Bureau of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, then published a Red Notice as the convict fled from Indonesia on July 24th 2021.
Hand in hand with the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, the Subject was identified and arrested on a flight arriving in Batam on January 9th, 2023. Without delay and in coordination involving the Provincial Prosecution Office of DKI Jakarta, Riau Islands, District Prosecution Office of North Jakarta, Batam, and Tangerang City, the Subject was arranged to arrive at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport on the same day at 8.30PM.
After successful travel, the subject was handed over to the District Prosecution Office of North Jakarta to serve the mentioned sentence.
The process was assisted by the Head of Extradition, Mutual Legal Assistance, and Transfer of Sentenced Persons Sub-Division and representatives of General Crime Sections as well as prosecutors of the Prosecution Offices involved.
